The Troy Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the promotion of Sheila Denstaedt to Vice President. Denstaedt has been with the Chamber for more than 10 years, previously serving as the Director of Business Development.
Denstaedt will be moving into her new role starting on April 26th, 2021 as current Vice President, Jody House moves into her newly created role as the Director of Finance.
“Both Sheila and Jody have played key roles in the success of the Chamber for many years, and we’re thrilled to recognize Sheila’s hard work with this well-deserved promotion and look forward to Jody’s contributions as Finance Director. Our members can feel confident the Chamber will continue to offer great benefits with both Sheila and Jody looking out for the members’ best interest.” said Nelson Lagerbohm, First Vice President/Market Manager with Flagstar Bank and current Troy Chamber Board Chairman.
Jody House started with the Troy Chamber in January of 1999 as a Sales Manager and earned her promotion to Vice President, in 2001. She has worked alongside four different Presidents through the Chamber’s history. As House looked for a greater balance between work and extra family time, the Chamber looked toward the creation of a new part-time role, that would be able to continue to utilize the great skills and talents.
“After 23 years at the Chamber, I’m excited to see what’s next for me and what’s next for the Chamber,” said House. “I’ll be stepping back but not stepping away, so I can spend more time with my grandchildren, enjoying my lake home and my new puppies.”
Sheila Denstaedt started with the Chamber in June of 2010, as the Director of Member Services and has consistently grown the membership over the years. Prior to joining the Chamber, she worked in developing and implementing educational/networking programs and special events for the Building Industry Association of Southeast Michigan for over ten years. In addition, she worked in hospitality as the Sales and Marketing Director with The Capital Grille, and in non-profit development with the American Lung Association.
“I am looking forward to the new role because it will allow me additional opportunities to interact with members,” said Denstaedt, “This will give me time to really focus on meeting our members’ needs through new programs and benefits that can benefit their business.”
“There are few moments in life where you can encounter a person who has the versatility and knowledge of so many industries, like Sheila. She has always pushed the Chamber to serve the members at its greatest ability. Her understanding of what businesses need and her dedication to service has been instrumental to the success of the Chamber’s mission. This promotion is well-deserved, and I cannot wait to see what her leadership will bring to the Troy Chamber,” stated Tara Tomcsik-Husak, President and CEO of the Troy Chamber. “It brings me great joy in knowing that our members will continue to thrive with Jody and Sheila in their new roles.”
