  1. OU’s School of Health Sciences to offer new Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree

    This fall, Oakland University’s School of Health Science will offer a new Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science undergraduate degree program.

    The new program will help prepare students for careers in exercise and fitness, health and wellness, and cardiac rehabilitation, as well as for application to graduate programs in the healthcare fields, such as physical therapy, exercise science, movement science or kinesiology.

  4. Marsh & McLennan Agency Survey: Health Plan Cost Increases by 3%, Lower than Prior Two Years

    Troy, Michigan – …Health care costs for Michigan employers grew at an average rate of just 3% after plan changes, down from 5% in 2017 and 2018, according to survey results released by Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC. Conducted annually for 16 years, the Michigan Mid-Market Group Benefits Survey benchmarks health benefits and cost trends for 2019 among 383 Michigan organizations with 100-10,000 employees.

  9. Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine collaborates with University of Detroit Mercy on interprofessional curriculum

    Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB) and University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry (Detroit Mercy) will launch a new interprofessional course to educate medical and dental students on how health care professionals collaborate for the benefit of their patients.

    Beginning in March 2019, second-year Detroit Mercy dental students will learn communication skills and patient encounters side-by-side with second-year medical students at OUWB’s Clinical Skills Center at Beaumont Hospital, Troy.
