Secrest Wardle made the season brighter for one local family in need by participating in the Troy Police Department’s Operation Blue Sleigh. The 24th annual food and gift drive was sponsored by the Troy Police Department and co-sponsored by Alliance Mobile Health. Faith Lutheran Church also joined as a partner for the first time in 2018. The Firm was assigned a single mother who adopted her five foster children. Shelli Eiswerth, Building Supervisor, led the fundraising effort based on a list of the family’s needs.

Every week throughout the year, Secrest Wardle employees in all three of the Firm’s office locations have the option to participate in “Casual Fridays.” In exchange for a $5.00 cash donation, business casual attire is permitted. Employees are encouraged to suggest charities for sponsorship. During the month of December, the Firm devoted two “Casual Fridays” to raising funds for the adopted family. The Firm successfully collected $480.00 which was used to buy gifts on the family’s wish list! Secrest Wardle employees also purchased additional gifts and the Firm contributed a variety of household goods.

The Troy Police Department has facilitated an “adopt a family” holiday program for 24 years. In recent years, the Department had admirably undertaken more holiday outreach efforts that have benefited more than 50 families and raised over $60,000.00 in goods and donations. Program recipients include struggling families and other Troy residents in financial need. The Troy Police Department works with community organizations to identify residents that will benefit from the effort, including children that would otherwise not receive gifts during the holidays. Those interested in making a contribution to the annual Food and Gift Drive may do so by “adopting a family,” making a monetary donation or donating food to the effort.
