Troy, Michigan, November 6, 2019 – On Monday, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants welcomed Michigan legislators, members and guests for a ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate its new office.
Newly appointed MICPA Chair of the Board David Echelbarger, who also leads Grand Rapids-based accounting firm Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co. P.C., performed the honors. He was joined by MICPA President and CEO Peggy Dzierzawski, U.S. Sen. Gary Peters, Congresswoman Haley Stevens, State Rep. Padma Kuppa and Jeremy Mahrle, representing U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s office, in cutting the ribbon to officially open the office.
From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., more than 100 guests had the opportunity to visit with state and industry leaders, enjoy refreshments and take a tour of the new office.
With a deliberate focus on enhancing collaboration, the MICPA’s new space features leading-edge technology to improve efficiency and communication with its members. The statewide professional organization dedicated to promoting the value of the CPA profession has moved “right down the road” from its previous headquarters to a new headquarters at 888 W. Big Beaver Road, Suite 550 in Troy.
“I am honored to be with my peers and colleagues today to help welcome the MICPA into its new home,” Echelbarger said. “It’s wonderful to be here with so many legislative, business and community leaders to celebrate this new space.”
The MICPA has taken great care to create a facility that is open and welcoming to members and to staff alike. From the inviting floor plan to the warm color palette and new technology that enhances collaboration, this new office will be a tremendous gathering spot for members and staff alike. I look forward to many more visits to 888 W. Beaver Road in the coming months of my tenure.”
“My team has worked to create a welcoming environment that will serve the needs of the association today – and support its growth into the future,” said Dzierzawski. “We’re pleased to have found a location that allows us to remain in Troy, which has been our home for nearly two decades.”
