Workshop Leader: Dr. Pat McDonald, MA Faculty, Central Michigan University

Did you know that developing your emotional intelligence is a powerful career strategy? Emotional Intelligence is factored into everyday decisions employers make. EI can be the key to further success, especially when moving into management positions.

In this session, attendees will learn how to use their EI to make the best judgement calls for the team and to advance their career. 

Why is EI important in career advancement? It affects how we manage behavior, navigate social complexities, and make personal decisions that achieve positive results. EI is a significant differentiator in not only project success but in employee success.

Light lunch will be provided at this workshop.

**This event is geared towards professionals that are age 35 or under.**

Dr. Pat McDonald Biography:

Pat has a BA in History and an MA in Guidance & Counseling from Siena Heights University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University.  Pat has given workshops and presentations throughout the United States and abroad.  She has been on four continents and 22 countries giving workshops, presentations and seminars.

Her work has been in the fields of: education, mental health, and organizational consultation.  She is a consultant for businesses and organizations, and does employee mediations, conflict issue and self-focused resolution.

Pat has authored three books:

Forgiveness: Generates Internal Vital Energy

ANGER and FORGIVENESS

SIFT: Systems, Ideas, Faith, Think

She co-authored a manual on Supervision in Mental Health

Employment: 

  • Siena Heights University Professor in Leadership and Counselor Education; Program Director-Higher Leadership Masters’ Program; Faculty Development Director
  • Central Michigan University: adjunct faculty (22 yrs.)
  • Pat serves on a hospital board in Henderson, NV
