NAHU’s Annual Convention and Exhibition Moving Business Forward Post-PPACA
Auburn Hills, MI – The National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) held its 82nd Annual Convention and Exhibition on June 24-27 in Las Vegas. Over 600 health insurance professionals from across the country gathered to learn about products, attend training for licensure renewal, and get the latest information on federal and state legislation.
Sue Emery, owner of Emery Benefit Solutions and associate of The Business Improvement Team, attended this conference for the opportunity to learn more about healthcare reform and its impact on healthcare consumers. She received the latest information on new legislative requirements and learned how to utilize exchanges in helping clients prepare for a healthy, financially secure future. Sue has been a NAHU member for 6 years; this was her convention. Sue serves on the legislation committee of the Metro Detroit Association of Health Underwriters, one of over 200 NAHU chapters across the country.
Convention’s guest speakers included many industry and business leaders speaking about healthcare reform and business strategies.
“Because of their dedication to continuing education and vast experience in the changing health insurance market, NAHU members are the most highly trained, best qualified health insurance professionals in America,” said NAHU CEO Janet Trautwein. “NAHU’s convention offers more continuing education credits, new product information and legislative updates than any other industry meeting.”
“NAHU connects me with people I may never have an opportunity to learn from on my own. This conference a collaborative of seasoned professionals shared results from their extensive research on how to help employers save money – no matter what healthcare reform does or does not do. They understand that the consultants job is to, first, discover our clients “problem” and then, solve it. I just filled up my tool box with new, sustainable tools to help solve my clients’ problems as it relates to healthcare, insurance and productivity.”
